Because it is made up of two mountains and a valley. We live in the valley. Today I hiked up (paritally) one of the mountains. The other is haleakala, the volcano.
Terri and I attempted this hike, but ended up on a trail that led to the other side of the mountain, folks used this trails years ago. We took the trail today that went straight up. I made it up halfway and then we turned around. I have wanted to hike this trail since before I moved here. I want to go again and make it to the top. I am told there is a green meadow, I think I'll pack a lunch and hang out there.
Lindsey was cleaning some space out and came across this photo. How funny, back then my initials were JMS.
For those of you who can't guess...it's the concrete beneath a shower pan. "We" renovated the master bathroom in San Diego and evidently needed to add some concrete. I remember this now that I saw the picture, but couldn't have retrieved it from my memory without the image.
So now, 11 years later and my initials are JMC, and it's still True Love Always.
We have a Tangerine tree, that is a good producer, so we share them by putting them in a crate and setting them out on the curb. People walk up and down the road in front of our house all day long...and grab one.
One morning I found this under my windshield wiper. How kind.
He's a finger puppet, but he's not what I ordered (It was a glass cookie platter, sort of thing) Anywho...when I opened the box, I found this little guy. How darn cute is that. In his mouth is a packing peanut, but not just any packing peanut, one made of corn syrup or something. Completely biodegradable. So much so, that it is edible.
I told Mira, Jazzy and Grace and of course they wanted to eat one. So they did. Then they asked for another. What...I said no. He's so cute.
