Pictures to follow...soon...I Promise

I want to add pictures, but my camera needs replacing. Soon. (Actually my new camera is in the mail) Check out this cool deal, Bill and I got new IPhones, our old ones were due for replacing, of course we got the IPhone 4 and the IPhone 5 is due out in August, but we don’t care. I just like being able to do my work on my phone (read in the car, on the beach….) wherever whenever I want. Anywho, We sold our old IPhones to Amazon for $188 a piece (we originally paid $199, so that’s pretty darn good). Anywho, as I was saying…we sold the old ones to Amazon, but they only give you Amazon bucks, if you will. So I used that to buy a new camera and…wait for it…wait for it…a heater for my outdoor shower. Bill about pooped his pants when I told him, but too bad. He doesn’t even have an Amazon account so he wouldn’t have used the Amazon buck anyway. (I did try to buy him Charmin Ultra, but they wouldn’t ship it here).

So now when my camera arrives (they wouldn’t ship it to Hawaii either, but I had it shipped to Lindsey and she’s shipping it to me…with a pair of pants she wants me to fix….love it) I will take pictures of my outdoor shower as it progresses…which might be sooner than later as the roof is getting worked on and the solar hot water heater is being replaced in Hawaii time. Which is not always as fast as some want, but that's okay.

Don't Cry for Me....

So…the perils of working from home and having your work phone forwarded to your house phone…

Some guy in Kansas City (read Central Time…or 5 hours earlier than Maui) wanted to let me know that he would be on site at the KC location around 10 am. He was calling me at 0830…or 0330 local….Yikes.

I grabbed the phone, cleared my throat and said, “This is Jean” He went on to tell me about his plans for the install later that morning. When I went back to bed, Bill asked, “What was that?” I said, “The phone.” He was happy with that explanation cause I didn’t hear another sound…except for my own snoring.

A Herd of Elephants

No not really, that's just what it sounds like. The roof begins today (number one on the list of 10 things to complete before our next visitors.). At 7:30 am, the guys from Pacific roofing showed up to deliver materials.

After 3 minutes of beeping as the truck backed up, the herd noise began. They are putting the materials directly from the truck to the roof (good because they had talked about putting them in the side yard, and all I could think about was dead grass.)

I don't know if they will actually start the process today, kinda hoping they will take a break as I have a conference call that starts in 15 minutes.

Bill is excited, he's standing out there watching them work...gotta love that.

Bill's picking mangoes for the roofers.

First Visitor

Betsy came to visit. She is already home and today she sent pictures of her visit. Today I ran.

Bill and I very much enjoyed her visiting. We go to go to fun places (I took the week off) lay in the sand and be a tourist. Her trip inspired me to take more advantage of this paradise I live in...so...Note to self, the places I want to see again or things I want to do again:
  1. Snorkel more
  2. Swim without touching more
  3. take the kayak out
  4. walk to Hadwick beach
  5. Sit on the lanai and have a cocktail
  6. Enjoy Bill making breakfast and even putting on the salt and pepper!
There are lots more, but those are the things that come to mind first.

We loved having Betsy visit and used it as an opportunity to get things done at the house. I already have a list of 10 things that I want to do before our next guests...Lindsey and Jacob. It's really 11 because Bill said getting a new roof was a done deal, but I put it on the list anyway.

Love you Betsy!
