Maui is Called the Valley isle

Because it is made up of two mountains and a valley.  We live in the valley.  Today I hiked up (paritally) one of the mountains.  The other is haleakala, the volcano.

Terri and I attempted this hike, but ended up on a trail that led to the other side of the mountain, folks used this trails years ago.  We took the trail today that went straight up.  I made it up halfway and then we turned around.  I have wanted to hike this trail since before I moved here.  I want to go again and make it to the top.  I am told there is a green meadow, I think I'll pack a lunch and hang out there.
